2004 Le Maréchal des motards

Why?

1. Box + 2nd light: The risk of a multiple collision will decrease if a deceleration is rapidly indicated.  The driver, who drives behind a vehicle that brakes suddenly, will be able warned more quickly of the manœuvre. Because there is more time to react, there are more chances to avoid a multiple collision.

2 Jacket with illuminated epaulets: At night the jacket illuminates immediately and indicates where the motorcyclist or ejected passenger is who has had an accident. Less time is needed to find the injured and in this way lives can be saved. If they lie on the motorway, the vest will prevent them from being run over by other vehicles.

Industrial versions

1.Box + 2nd light: Legislation forbids a flashing red taillight, therefore we install a second light next to the main light. It is installed in the form of a box, under the saddle of the car and attached to the chassis. When the vehicle brakes, the two taillights will light up as usual, but when the vehicle brakes suddenly, the added light will start flashing.

2. Jacket with illuminated epaulets:  We have created a motorcyclist’s jacket that combines a security airbag and shoulder pads (if the motorcyclist falls, he will never be hidden.)

Principle

1. Box + 2nd light: When someone brakes quickly a deceleration sensor sets the security system into motion. The flashing of the second taillight indicates the danger of the manoeuvre to the following vehicles. The flashing persists as long as the vehicle is breaking. Afterwards the flashing stops and the two standard taillights will indicate when the car brakes as usual.
2. Jacket with illuminated shoulder pads: The flashing of the two beacons on the shoulders of the jacket indicates where the motorcyclist and his passenger are. The jacket enables the firemen to find the victims more quickly and at the same time it makes it less likely for them to be run over.
